Congressman John Rose, who represents Tennessee’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed federal spending and legislative priorities through a series of posts on his social media account.
On July 16, 2025, Rose commented on a proposed spending cut package, stating: “This $9.4B recission package is another example of @POTUS following through on his pledge to cut waste, fraud, and abuse. The House has done its part. It’s time for the Senate to step up. @toddstarnes @NEWSMAX https://t.co/LQDdwIU9Tk”
Later that day, he referenced efforts by House Republicans regarding cryptocurrency policy: “This week, House Republicans are fulfilling President Trump’s promise to establish the U.S. as the crypto capital of the world. https://t.co/wRcrdo3IyR” (July 16, 2025).
In a third post on July 16, Rose criticized certain overseas expenditures under President Biden’s administration: “Under Biden, the US spent $3M for an Iraqi ‘Sesame Street’, $3M on circumcisions & vasectomies in Zambia, $500K for electric buses in Rwanda, and $67K to feed insect powder to kids in Madagascar. American tax dollars should not bankroll pet projects overseas.”
John Rose has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Diane Black and represents Tennessee’s 6th District. Born in Cookeville in 1965 and currently residing there at age 58, Rose holds degrees from Tennessee Technological University and Vanderbilt University.
