Congressman John Rose, who represents Tennessee’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing government shutdown negotiations and violence against ICE officers.
On September 23, 2025, Rose criticized House and Senate Democrats regarding the federal budget process. He wrote, “A reminder that House Democrats already voted to shut down the government. Now Shutdown Schumer and his Senate Democrats are ready to do the same, holding America hostage just to line NPR’s pockets, hand out free health insurance to illegal aliens, and push a $1.5 trillion https://t.co/HygiOkk4jY”.
The following day, September 24, Rose responded to reports of a shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Dallas. In his post he stated, “Praying for the victims of the shooting at @ICEgov in Dallas. The radical Left’s war on our brave men & women in uniform MUST END. Violence against ICE agents is out of control. This targeting has to stop.
God bless our heroes on the front lines.”
On September 25, Rose continued addressing violence against law enforcement with another post: “There’s been a 1,000% spike in assaults on ICE officers. The Left’s reckless, violent rhetoric is fueling these attacks on our brave law enforcement. It’s dangerous and it must stop now.”
John Rose has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Diane Black. Born in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965, he continues to reside there today. Rose graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 and earned his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University in 1993.
