Congressman John Rose, who represents Tennessee’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on October 10, 2025, addressing the ongoing government shutdown and expressing condolences following a tragic event.
In his first post at 14:24 UTC, Rose called for action from Democratic lawmakers, stating: “Democrats need to do the right thing and open up the government. Our troops deserve better.”
Later that day, at 18:07 UTC, he commented on an unspecified tragedy, writing: “This is tragic. Chelsea and I are praying for these families. Please join us in keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.”
In a subsequent post at 20:49 UTC, Rose criticized Congressional Democrats over the shutdown’s impact while highlighting differences between elected officials and other workers: “If everyday Americans don’t do their jobs, they’re fired. When Congressional Democrats don’t do theirs by keeping the government shut down, they still collect a tax-funded paycheck. Remember that next November. @toddstarnes @NEWSMAX”
John Rose has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Diane Black. He was born in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965 and continues to reside there. Rose holds degrees from Tennessee Technological University (BS, 1988) and Vanderbilt University (JD, 1993).
