Congressman John Rose, who represents Tennessee’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on September 30, 2025, addressing ongoing debates over government funding and policy disagreements between political parties.
In a tweet from the morning of September 30, Rose criticized Democratic lawmakers: “It’s the radical Democrats who have walked away from the American people to cower to their far-left base. Open borders. Men in women’s sports. Crime exploding with cashless bail. And now, they’ll shut down the government unless YOU pay for their $1.5 TRILLION woke wish list.”
Later that day, Rose referenced public opinion and bipartisan agreement on avoiding a government shutdown: “76% of Americans say avoid a shutdown. @POTUS and the @HouseGOP agree. Now is the time to stand with the American people and keep the government funded.” This statement highlights polling data indicating broad support for keeping federal operations running.
In an evening post on September 30, Rose accused Democrats of prioritizing benefits for undocumented immigrants over military personnel: “Imagine holding the American government HOSTAGE because you care more about illegal aliens getting free healthcare than our troops getting paid. That’s exactly what Democrats are doing and it’s shameful.”
