Congressman John Rose, who represents Tennessee’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on November 10 and 11, 2025, addressing the impacts of the government shutdown, legislative efforts in Congress, and honoring veterans.
In a tweet posted on November 10, Rose highlighted the challenges faced by Turner & Sons Nursery in Smithville due to delays in the H-2A program: “Turner & Sons Nursey in Smithville has taken part in the H-2A program since the 90s. The program provided reliable help when they needed it most. Yet, this year, because of the Democrat-led shut down, their help will likely be delayed by more than a month. That doesn’t just hurt https://t.co/te6RbyHsZJ”.
Later that day, Rose commented on congressional negotiations related to reopening the government: “On September 19, the @HouseGOP passed a clean CR, a measure Chuck Schumer had supported 13 times before. Democrats rejected it. On October 16, Senate Republicans offered a deal guaranteeing a vote on ACA subsidies in exchange for reopening the government. Democrats rejected https://t.co/R04pAxmJFa”.
On November 11, Rose shared a message recognizing veterans: “Today, we honor every Tennessean and every American who has worn the uniform. Your courage, sacrifice, and love of country secure the freedoms we work to preserve. From the Volunteer State to every corner of this great nation, thank you for defending our American way of life. https://t.co/oO5m0SxLAS”.
John Rose has served as U.S. Representative for Tennessee’s 6th District since replacing Diane Black in 2019. He was born in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965 and continues to reside there at age 58. Rose graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree and later earned his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University.
