Congressman John Rose, who represents Tennessee’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to highlight the impact of the ongoing government shutdown and to commend local businesses for their community support.

On November 5, 2025, Rose posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “I want to thank the small businesses across Tennessee’s Congressional Sixth, like Fulkerson’s Hard Rock Concrete and Prince Street Pizza & Pub in Gallatin, for stepping up to feed families during this painful Democrat Shutdown. Their generosity is a lesson Washington could stand”.

Two days later, on November 7, 2025, Rose addressed challenges faced by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Nashville International Airport amid the shutdown. John Rose has served as U.S. Representative for Tennessee’s 6th District since 2019 after succeeding Diane Black. Born in Cookeville in 1965 and currently residing there at age 58, Rose holds degrees from Tennessee Technological University (BS) and Vanderbilt University (JD).

The recent posts reflect concerns about both local community resilience and broader economic effects attributed by Rose to what he terms a “Democrat Shutdown.” According to his statements online, he seeks to draw attention both to hardships experienced by federal workers and families as well as efforts by local businesses stepping up during this period.
