Congressman John Rose, representing Tennessee’s 6th district since 2019, has recently shared a series of tweets regarding the legislative proposal known as “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill.” The tweets highlight various aspects of the bill and its potential impacts on taxation, immigration enforcement, and government spending.

On June 18, 2025, Congressman Rose tweeted that “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill gives everyday Americans the biggest tax break since 2017. More money. Less IRS. #OB3”. This suggests that the bill aims to provide significant tax relief to American citizens while reducing the size and influence of the Internal Revenue Service.

Later that day, at 22:30 UTC, he further elaborated on another aspect of the bill by stating that “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill hires 10,000 additional ICE agents and gives them pay raises.” This indicates an emphasis on strengthening immigration enforcement through increased staffing and compensation for Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel.

In a subsequent tweet at 23:30 UTC on the same day, Congressman Rose mentioned that “Imagine cutting trillions in waste without touching Social Security or Medicare. President Trump’s One, Big, Beautiful Bill does just that.” Here he highlights the bill’s intent to reduce federal spending without affecting key social programs like Social Security and Medicare.

John Rose was born in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965 and continues to reside there. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 and earned a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University in 1993.
