Congressman John Rose, who has represented Tennessee’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, posted a series of tweets marking the five-year anniversary of January 6, 2021, and expressing ongoing concerns about election integrity.
On January 6, 2026, Rose reflected on his actions during the certification of the 2020 presidential election results: “5 years ago today, I stood with President Trump, objecting to the certification of the fraudulent 2020 election. Never forget the Republicans who turned their backs on the President on his darkest day and voted for Joe Biden’s ‘win.'”
Later that day, he reiterated his stance regarding the events of January 6: “Just as I was five years ago, I am proud to have stood for election integrity — and stood with President Trump on January 6, 2021.”
The following morning, Rose addressed legislative developments related to voting laws: “Only 300 days until the November midterms and not ONE election integrity law has been passed. The House passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act 272 days ago, and it has sat in the Republican-controlled Senate ever since. @LeaderJohnThune must bring the SAVE”
Rose’s remarks come amid ongoing national debates over election security measures and reflect continued partisan divisions over the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act referenced by Rose is pending in the Senate after passage in the House.
Born in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965, John Rose is currently age 58 and resides in Cookeville. He holds a BS from Tennessee Technological University (1988) and a JD from Vanderbilt University (1993). Rose succeeded Diane Black as representative for Tennessee’s 6th district beginning in 2019.
