Congressman John Rose, representing Tennessee’s 6th district since 2019, has been vocal on social media about key legislative matters. His recent tweets focus on the reconciliation bill and its implications for Medicaid, immigration policies, and agricultural support.
On June 19, 2025, Congressman Rose addressed his Senate colleagues regarding Medicaid under the President’s reconciliation bill. He emphasized that “Medicaid is strengthened under @POTUS’ reconciliation bill. It remains solvent for families in need, not couch surfers or folks who have no business here in the first place.“
Later that day, he clarified his stance on immigration policy by stating that “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill isn’t anti-immigrant. It’s anti-illegal. There’s a difference.” This statement underscores his position on distinguishing between legal and illegal immigration.
In another tweet posted an hour later, Congressman Rose defended the provisions of the same bill related to agriculture and food assistance programs. He asserted that “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill ensures SNAP is around for struggling moms — and ensures our farmers are able to keep planting the food and fiber we depend on.” He concluded with a caution against misinformation: “Don’t believe the lies.”
Congressman John Rose was born in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965 and continues to reside there today. A graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University in 1993, he succeeded Diane Black as representative of Tennessee’s 6th District.
