Congressman John Rose, representing Tennessee’s 6th district, recently shared his views on Medicaid and welfare reforms through a series of tweets. Serving in Congress since 2019, Rose replaced Diane Black and has been vocal about his policy stances.
On June 19, 2025, Congressman Rose expressed concerns regarding Medicaid allocations. He stated, “Able-bodied adults shouldn’t be milking Medicaid while Americans with real needs wait in line. Furthermore, able-bodied adults shouldn’t be the reason we borrow money we don’t have. Let’s pass #OB3.”
The following day, June 20, 2025, he advocated for the passage of the “One, Big, Beautiful bill,” asserting its necessity by stating “Why pass the One, Big, Beautiful bill? Because the American people are sick of funding chaos, crime, and corruption.”
Later that day on June 20th, he addressed issues concerning state management of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. He claimed that “Red states get SNAP to the right people. Blue states let the system bleed fraud. The One, Beautiful Bill says enough!”
Congressman John Rose was born in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965 and still resides there at age 58. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 and later earned a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University in 1993.
