John Rose emphasizes American workers’ interests in trade deals

Congressman John Rose, who represents Tennessee’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently expressed his views on several key issues through a series of tweets. Born in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965, Rose has served since 2019 and replaced Diane Black. He is an alumnus of Tennessee Technological University and Vanderbilt University.

On July 9, 2025, Congressman Rose tweeted about trade deals emphasizing that they should prioritize American workers over foreign competitors. He stated that “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill ensures fair trade that puts Tennessee jobs first.”

Later on July 10, he addressed the opioid crisis with another tweet mentioning solutions included in the bill such as border security measures to halt fentanyl influxes, funding for treatment programs, and holding dealers accountable. He noted that “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill tackles the opioid crisis with real solutions: border security to stop fentanyl, treatment funding, and accountability for dealers.”

Additionally on July 10, Congressman Rose discussed education policy. He criticized federal mandates imposed on teachers and advocated for local control over educational resources. His tweet declared that “Tennessee’s teachers deserve respect, not mandates from Washington. The One, Big, Beautiful Bill supports local control and classroom resources that work.”
