Mount Juliet ranked 23rd in state for resident earnings in 2017

Mount Juliet ranked 23rd among cities in Tennessee by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Mount Juliet residents was an inflation-adjusted $40,090 per year. Mount Juliet had 11,193 households in 2017, with a population of 31,397.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Belle Meade. Belle Meade's median income was $84,423 per year after adjusting for inflation – $44,333 more than Mount Juliet. It had 994 households in 2017 and a population of 2,584.

Sewanee had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Tennessee, with a median income of only $4,476 per year. That was $35,614 less than the median income in Mount Juliet at the time. Sewanee had 433 households in 2017 and a population of 2,377.
