28.8% unemployed in Hendersonville in 2017

28.8 percent of Hendersonville residents between 16 and 65 years old were unemployed in 2017, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The percentage of unemployed residents was less than the statewide total of 38.8 percent for this demographic group. In 2017 the total Hendersonville population reached 43,856.

Out of 31,216 people who had a job, 49 were employed in the Armed Forces and 31,167 belonged to the civilian labor force.

The total unemployment numbers include residents of all ages who are not working.
