Cost of college went up for all students at Cumberland University

Tuition and fees rose 5 percent for 2018-19 at Cumberland University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Tennessee students paid $22,890 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,080 more than the $21,810 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 560 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.9 million and 169 students took out student loans totaling more than $949,266.

Including all undergraduates (2,405), 1,916 students used grants or scholarships totaling $21.3 million, and 806 students took out $5.3 million in federal student loans.
