Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin metro lag behind Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk in 2019

The Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin metro area exported $7.9 billion in 2019, less than exports from Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin metro area consists of nine counties.

The Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk metro area comprises one counties exporting $8 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
