On Wednesday, 030922, about 7:42pm, a Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a black BMW with Arizona plates for improper passing on River Rd. The driver fled the stop. Deputies pursued. The pursuit went west on Old Hwy 25. The driver intentionally struck the patrol car, stopped and fled on foot. Deputies lost sight, after a foot pursuit. An emergency notification was sent to notify residents in the area. Other Deputies responded to assist. The driver was wanted in the state of Washington and Montana for vehicle theft and weapons charges. About 11:30pm, the driver was found, arrested and booked on Reckless Driving, Driving on Suspended, Evading Arrest by Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest on Foot and Aggravated Assault. The other states declined to take custody of the suspect.
