Volunteer State Community College National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month

In honor of National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month, 1,100 red flags will be featured in front of Thigpen Library in remembrance of the 1,100 students who die of suicide every year in the United States.

Today, September 7th, Vol State will hold the annual Break The Silence event in the Thigpen Plaza on the Gallatin Campus from 11 AM to 12 PM.  Students will learn about support resources, listen to survivor’s stories, and honor those who have been lost. Refreshments will be provided.

If you are not attending the Gallatin campus, contact Student Services on your campus to ask about National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month events.
