Cumberland men’s bowling competed in the MSC Brandon Burns Memorial this past weekend for their third MSC tournament of the year, finishing 11th out of 18 teams.
Pikeville captured the men’s title with 10,268 pins over the two-day tournament.
The tournament consisted of six team games that were bowled on Saturday and 16 baker games on Sunday.
Tennessee Wesleyan finished runner-up with 9,609 pins while Tennessee Southern was third with 9,565 pins. Cumberlands (Ky.) and non-conference Milligan (Tenn.) round out the top five with 9,485 and 9, 418 pins, respectively.
Tennessee Wesleyan's Jacob Watts won the individual title with 1,436 pins beating out Tennessee Southern Hayden Stippich by 14 pins. Emmanuel's (Ga.) Nick Dischinger finished third with 1,394 pins. Pikeville's Wesley Yazell and Matteo Cittadino round out the top five with 1,373 and 1,371 pins, respectively.
Emmanuel finished sixth with 9,391 pins, Belmont Abbey was seventh with 9,198 pins and Bethel (Tenn.) totaled 9,109 pins to place eighth. Tusculum and Campbellsville (Ky.) round out the top ten with 8,768 and 8,725 pins.
Cumberland (Tenn.) finished 11th, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) placed 12th and Thomas More was 13th. Midway (Ky.) was 14th, Union (Ky.) was 15th and Shawnee State rounds out the MSC teams in the standings in 18th.
Cumberland’s highest finisher was Matthew Charleton in 27th. He collected 1,237 pins across six games. Grayson Hemontolor was next in 63rd followed by Connor Adams in 72nd.
