Sophiat Omizi/Women's Track and Field | Cumberland University, Lebanon, TN
Cumberland women’s track and field took on stiff competition in the first day of the Commodore Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt on Friday.
Alana Mack took on the first event for Cumberland in the long jump. Mack posted a 12th place finish with a mark of 5.36 meters.
Sophiat Omizi came in 19th place in the weight throw at 12.81 meters.
Leesa Mutandwa and Judah Jackson finished 28th and 29th in the 200m. Mutwanda posted a time of 28.53 and Jackson finished at 29.60.
In the 1000m, Sarah Wilkerson came in 20th place at 3:22.56.
In the last event of the evening, Elise Krone and Dani Rivera finished two and three in the 5000m with times of 20:32.00 and 21:38.52.
The Phoenix will wrap up the Commodore Challenge tomorrow. Events will begin tomorrow at 12:35 p.m. starting with the 60 meter dash at the McGuin Athletic Center.
