Cumberland splits the Campbellsville tri-match taking down conference foe Campbellsville in a five set thriller, but fell in the night cap to Mt. Vernon Nazarene in three.

Cumberland responded by winning the second set with a 25-21 score. The Tigers took a big set three 25-18 to seemingly take control of the match, but the Phoenix brought the intensity in set four earning a chance for the win and five and capitalizing.

The second match of the day was all Mt. Vernon Nazarene throughout as the Cougars posted a 3-0 sweep. The first and second set were tight as MVNU posted a 25-22 and 25-23 wins to get up 2-0, but the Cougars blew CU out in set three taking the match with a 25-10 win.

Ilic had another strong game offensively posting 11 kills on a .318 hit percentage. Pierce added six kills and 25 assists. Ferrell and Lester each contributed six kills a piece.
