Spring Showcase for new students | Tennessee Tech University (tntech.edu)
Tennessee Tech University is hosting its annual Spring Showcase on Feb. 25 and March 4, welcoming newly admitted students to campus.
The Spring Showcase is split into two Saturdays with both days hosting all majors for admitted students. The event runs 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. with the main sessions taking place in the Roaden University Center.
The exclusive event allows admitted students to spend the entire morning with the major of their choice. They can get all their questions answered by their future professors and current students.
"Spring Showcase was created to provide an opportunity for admitted students and their families a chance to connect with both the colleges and professors while on campus,” Frank Tittle, director of undergraduate admissions, said.
It helps new students stay connected to the university as they are finishing up their senior year of high school and gets them more comfortable with campus.
"This event is tailored to the students who are admitted for the summer or fall term, and we strive to provide hands-on activities throughout the day to create a captivating atmosphere with both current students and faculty members,” Tittle said.
A sample itinerary for the day includes college introductions and overview, breakout sessions and activities in the students’ majors, lunch and a living “Wings Up” session.
"This event lets them explore campus, see the locations they will be in for classes or labs, and get all their questions answered by the faculty and staff who will be their mentors once they are enrolled at TN Tech," Tittle said.
Admitted students can still register for the Spring Showcase by visiting https://www.tntech.edu/admissions/visit/springshowcase.php.
"We pride ourselves on the connections that our students are able to establish with their professors and other students within their major,” Tittle said. “Spring Showcase affords students the opportunity to begin creating those connections."
Applications are also still open to attend Tech next fall. Interested students can apply by visiting https://www.tntech.edu/admissions/apply/.
