3.7% of citizens unemployed in Sumner County in 2021

Sumner County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 3,742 people out of the 193,036 living in Sumner County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Sumner County has increased compared to the 3.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Sumner County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 97,906 people who had a job during that time, 145 were employed in the Armed Forces and 97,761 belonged to the civilian labor force.
