3.8% of Wilson County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Wilson County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 2,850 people out of the 144,748 living in Wilson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Wilson County has increased compared to the 3.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Wilson County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 72,558 people who had a job during that time, 83 were employed in the Armed Forces and 72,475 belonged to the civilian labor force.
