Congressman John Rose, representing Tennessee’s 6th district since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets reflecting on religious themes and current events. His remarks centered around Easter and the passing of a significant religious leader, Pope Francis. Rose has been active in U.S. Congress since taking the place of Diane Black and originates from Cookeville, Tennessee.
On April 18, Congressman John Rose noted, “Today we remember the ultimate act of love. Jesus gave His life so we could have ours. It is finished. (John 19:30)”, drawing attention to the biblical event commemorated on Good Friday.
Two days later, on April 20, he celebrated Easter with a tweet stating, “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Today we celebrate the empty tomb and the eternal hope we have in Jesus Christ. Happy Easter!”, emphasizing the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope associated with this event.
Following the reported death of Pope Francis, Rose expressed his condolences and solidarity with those mourning, tweeting on April 21, “I join millions around the world in mourning the passing of Pope Francis. My prayers are with the Catholic community and all who were touched by his leadership and witness.”
John Rose, born in 1965 in Cookeville, Tennessee, pursued his education at Tennessee Technological University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1988, followed by a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University in 1993.
